Following the success of their previous high-end signature series, ThieAudio is proud to present the new tribrid setup IEM: the Excalibur. Equipped with a unique hybrid driver configuration, Excalibur is designed to blow your mind with its astonishing sound quality and exquisite handcraft.

The Excalibur offers 2 Electrostatic + 2 Balanced Armatures + 1 Dynamic Driver tribrid setup, featuring three different classes of drivers matched based on their unique functional properties. The sub bass and bass of the Excalibur is powered by a new 10mm polycarbonate dynamic driver to produce a deeper low-frequency sound distribution. The driver has been further optimised with magnets to increase its speed and response. The team at ThieAudio have chosen a customised American Knowles DFK series balanced armature (BA) drivers to reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD) because of its excellent pinna gain placement. More importantly, these BA drivers match perfectly with the tonal characteristics of the Sonion EST drivers dedicated to the high range, to create a natural synergy that brings out impeccable details and an airy atmosphere, allowing for an enjoyable listening experience.

The ThieAudio Excalibur utilises the latest driver technology from the Danish manufacturer, Sonion – the Electrostatic (EST) tweeter. The EST driver features an ultralight membrane in a small tweeter chamber, powered by an independent transformer to extend the in-ears treble range up to 80kHz. Despite the sonic advantages of EST drivers, their relatively low sound output volumes mean that the tuning requires special engineering to balance out all of the drivers to make the EST drivers stand out. The prior experiences working with these drivers have honed the abilities to precisely calibrate all of the drivers in the system, to bring out the best EST driver performance. ThieAudio believes that the Excalibur is among the very few IEM’s in the market that takes advantage of the full potential of EST drivers, and you’ll benefit from the crisp treble extension that is incomparable with any other drivers out there.

ThieAudio Excalibur comes bundled with a state-of-the-art, audiophile-grade, superior quality 5N OCC cable with 2.5mm balanced termination with the aim for the best quality in audio transmission. This cable comes with a 4-core Litz cable composed of 100 OCC copper, 5N silver-plated wires to enhance the overall performance of the music. The Excalibur also features an industry-standard 2Pin connector with a 0.78mm connection and is detachable to protect the pins. This 2Pin connector allows for easy connectivity and also allows for upgradability in the future.

The ThieAudio Excalibur ships with much-needed accessories and an elegant carry case, making it easy to carry and personalise to your taste. There is one utilitarian carry case included with a variety of ear tips like 1 pair of silicone ear tips and 3 pairs of memory foam ear tips – 1 pair of each small, medium and large size. The package also includes 2 pairs of interchangeable connector plugs – One 4.4mm balanced plug and One 3.5mm single-ended plug. This is thoughtful and reduces the need to buy extra accessories and also allows for maintaining the IEM’s.
