TempoTec Sonata MHD is capable of decoding MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) audio, bringing you the studio/concert experience. The Sonata MHD includes MQA decoding technology, which can connect to an MQA Core signal and complete the final unfold of an MQA file. To fully utilise this, MQA-enabled software must be used on the smartphone (e.g. HiBy Music App) to realise 8x unfolding of MQA audio. The device is certified by the Japan Audio Society for high-resolution audio.

TempoTec Sonata MHD DAC supports playback for various formats like PCM audio format up to 32bit/384kHz and the DSD128 file format. The device is also capable of decoding and playing DXD formats. The ES9281 DAC chip is behind the all-format HiFi decoding power of the Sonata MHD. This combination of the technology enables Sonata MHD to deliver crystal clear sound no matter what the genre.

The TempoTec Sonata MHD is universally compatible with all common devices running Android, Windows, macOS, iOS and also TempoTec V1 HiFi players. Sonata MHD comes equipped with an industry-standard 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing you to connect standard wired headphones for a high-resolution music experience. For connecting with Mac and Windows PC a USB converter is included making it easy to connect the Sonata MHD.

TempoTec Sonata MHD offers two unique modes of operation depending on the connection established. Call Mode activates when you connect an earphone equipped with a microphone, allowing you to communicate with ease. The HiFi Mode activates when earphones without a microphone are connected, allowing you to enjoy music at the highest quality possible. The switching between these modes happens automatically. The Sonata MHD also comes equipped with a single crystal copper wire that is silver plated to reduce signal loss during transmission.

TempoTec Sonata MHD is engineered for low power consumption, restricting it to drain the battery on your smartphone or devices and letting you enjoy your music without any hassles. Sonata MHD outputs a whopping 70mW@32 Ohms, enough to power all kinds of HiFi headphones with high impedance. Sonata MHD delivers 2 VRMS of output power for superior audio.

The indicator light comes up in different colours according to the currently playing music format / sample rate. Red: connected but not playing, Blue: playing PCM at 32-48kHz, Green: playing PCM at 88.2-192kHz / DSD64, Light green: playing PCM at 352.8-384kHz / DSD128, Purple: playing MQA

The TempoTec Sonata MHD, with its simple yet elegant design and an all aluminium alloy body, is built to withstand the most rigorous usage. For easy access, there is a 30 stepped HID hardware volume button that allows you to adjust the volume for the device on the fly.
