DESCRIPTION

The Mjolnir 2 is perfect for a range of listening devices with switchable gain. A gain of 1 is perfect for sensitive IEMs while a standard gain of 8 can drive even power-hungry headphones. The Mjolnir 2 also offers balanced and single-ended outputs for headphones & preamps. It uses Schiit’s proprietary, inherently balanced and differential Crossfet topology. With a custom 4-gang RK27 Alps volume pot and balanced in/ balanced out, you get superior performance.

You can get the Mjolnir 2 as a tube hybrid, or as a pure solid-state amp — or get both, and switch between the two whenever you’d like. You can also swap the standard 6BZ7 tubes for anything in the 6DJ8, 6922, ECC88, and 2492 families, to “roll” the sound according to your specific taste. Or just go for the Schiit LISST (Linear, Integral Solid-State Tube) separately for a 100% solid-state amp.

: No. We really, really like tube hybrid amps, because they provide the best possible combination of the strengths of tubes and the strengths of solid-state. So, we decided to make this unique, circlotron-topology headphone amp with tube gain and MOSFET output
: A circlotron has no inherent single-ended output. However, the circlotron outputs can be summed together, which is what we did here. Just like Ragnarok. Except lots cheaper. Shoot us for making Mjolnir 2 more flexible.

: “Circlotron” was the first commercial name for a cross-shunt push-pull output stage. At the time, it used tubes. We use MOSFET outputs, so we call our topology Crossfet™.
: No. They’re thrilled. N-channel MOSFETs and P-channel MOSFETs usually don’t match too well (and that’s putting it mildly.) Crossfet allows us to use only N-Channel MOSFETs, for better matching, and for an elegantly simple output stage with great performance.
