THX is a well-recognised amplifier architecture brand and they have designed and equipped the FiiO M17 with desktop-grade THX-AAA 788+ amplifier architecture which produces a tremendously powerful output with lower distortion and clean background. The M17 is capable of providing up to 3W of power when connected via a DC power supply. On the battery, this output power is controlled for better battery life.

FiiO M17 houses Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 660 SoC chip. This is an eight-core high-performance CPU chip that delivers lightning-fast performance with applications. The FiiO M17 has been equipped with the latest flagship grade QCC5124 chip to offer Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity with support for SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX-HD, aptX-Adaptive and LDAC protocols. The M17 also features an XMOS receiver chip that works in conjunction with the QCC5124 chip to deliver ultra-low latency and support for PCM 32bit/768kHz and DSD512 formats. The FiiO M17 also supports MQA unfolding for master-level sound quality. With these technologies available, you can enjoy your music at the highest quality wirelessly.

FiiO M17 offers an array of output ports to select. This is implemented in the design, so you do not need to worry about additional connectors and adapters for different devices. The FiiO M17 supports headphone output with 3.5mm and 6.35mm single-ended, as well as 2.5mm and 4.4mm balanced headphone output. The device also has separate single-ended and balanced line-out ports via independent 3.5mm and 4.4mm ports. M17 also features an RCA coaxial port that can act as input and output, depending on your requirement. The M17 is adjusted to provide a powerful output. The device has an output power rating of up to 3000mW per channel in Balanced out and a spectacular 16dB gain level in over-ear headphone mode.

The FiiO M17 offers four gain levels when used with battery power. You can toggle between Low, Medium, High and Headphone Mode. When operating in DC mode, super headphone mode gain is unlocked, with desktop-level amplification gain. To provide sufficient power the M17 has been equipped with two power supplies. You can use the M17 on battery power or choose to operate it in DC supply. With DC supply, the voltage is increased by 35% and offers superior performance. To keep the device temperature cool “H” Type heat dissipation and VC liquid cooling technologies are adopted. The M17’s 151g unibody aluminium alloy frame also effectively transfers heat out of the device.

The FiiO M17’s design took 1.5 years to complete, going through various design iterations and internal structural design optimisation. The result is a device that makes excellent use of its space. Inside the M17 are carefully stacked analogue and digital boards with tantalum capacitors, ultra-low noise LDO architecture, NDK femtosecond crystal oscillator and gravity sensors. All these components add a solid foundation for smooth audio playback. The PCBs in the M17 is utilised with an immersion gold finish, with the analogue and digital sections physically separated by being on two different boards to reduce interference between the two portions. Seven high conductivity copper alloy shields also provide shielding to reduce internal and external electromagnetic interference.

FiiO M17 is a highly equipped flagship device that boasts a 5.99” FHD+ display. It produces crisp, high-quality visuals with true to life colours. The 5.99” FHD+ display is more than enough to operate the device with ease. The M17 is embedded with a massive 9200mAH battery with 10 hours of battery life so you don’t run out of juice while listening to your music. The M17 can be operated via the battery mode which also offers quick charging with USB 3.0 or with the included DC12V power adaptor. It provides full performance with the DC power adapter connected.

The futuristic, seamless, CNC- finished aluminium unibody design of the FiiO M17 evokes a sense of technological wonder. The mech-inspired sharp lines of the body, buttons and atmospheric lights give the M17 a bold and charismatic aura. The M17 features a seven-colour RGB ambient light system with extensive customisation options. Colours can be set to be either fixed, to follow the audio or to follow a cycle. The volume can be adjusted either using an analogue potentiometer knob or using buttons allowing you to quickly and easily go through 120 levels of volume through either method.
